(a)  Refunds

Events cancelled by Phoenix:
A full refund will be given if an event is cancelled by Phoenix.   

Events where places have been booked with or tickets purchased from outside organisations:
A refund will be made only if we are able to re-sell the tickets or obtain a refund from the event organisers.
All other events:
48 hours cancellation notice required.
All refunds will be subject to an admin fee of £1 per person.

Cancellation due to bereavement/medical or other extenuating circumstances.
A refund may be made at the discretion of the Director.  (Supporting evidence may be required.)
A link to the refund policy on the website will be included on programmes and added to the activities.

BSL Courses in the Community

  • A non-refundable deposit of £50 is payable on booking.
  • If the full amount has been paid and notice of cancellation is given before the course start date, a refund of the amount paid, less the non-refundable deposit, will be made.
  • Cancellation once the course has started: No refunds available
  • Withdrawal from the course for extenuating circumstances.  A refund may be offered at the discretion of the Director, depending on classes already attended. 


Exam fees

  • Exam fees are non-refundable.
  • Candidates aged 18 years or younger will receive the Signature discount on exam fees.



  • The Examining Body (Signature) issues the certificates and their fees will apply:   
  • Replacement certificates £25 each.  Candidates should register with the exact name they would like to appear on the certificate.
  • Signature requires £25 for any admin chances to candidates’ information,  e.g. name change.

Room Bookings – Private Hire

  • Regular and one off hall hire: £20 deposit is due upon booking and full payment is due on receipt of invoice one month in advance of booking. If payment is not received, the Charity reserves the right to charge an administration fee and to cancel future bookings. For all bookings made within one month, the following terms apply.
  • Cancellations: 2 weeks or more prior to a booking: no charge, up to 1 week before a booking 50% charge. Cancellation within 1 week will result in the hirer being charged the full hire fee.
  • The Charity reserves the right to amend the hire rates and conditions and will give at least one month’s notice in doing so.

Room Bookings – Corporate Hire

  • Non-refundable deposit at time of booking:  £50
  • Cancellations: 2 weeks or more prior to a booking: no charge, up to 1 week before a booking 50% charge. Cancellation within 1 week will result in the hirer being charged the full hire fee.
  • The Charity reserves the right to amend the hire rates and conditions and will give at least one month’s notice in doing so.


(b)     Services Provided

1.      The Services

1.2    A description of the Services is available on our Website.  We will provide the Services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the description set out on the Website.

1.3    We reserve the right to vary or withdraw any of the Services described on the Website without notice.

1.4    We do not make any guarantee to you that you will obtain a particular result, professional qualification or employment opportunity from your purchase of any of the Services.

2.    Purchasing Services via the Website
2.1    In order to subscribe to any of the Services on-line you must register for an account with us via the Website.  
2.2    When you pay for a subscription via the Website you are offering to purchase the Services on these terms and conditions.  
2.3    Following receipt by us of your subscription payment, a legally binding agreement between us and you shall come into existence when we have received payment of the relevant subscription payment from you in accordance with clause 3 below.

3.    Subscription
3.1    The Subscription for the Services shall be as set out on the Website.

3.2    Subscriptions are non-refundable.

3.3    It is the responsibility of the learner to use these resources within the subscription period. The subscription period can only be extended by renewal of the subscription.

3.4    The Phoenix Group does not and is not responsible for booking any examination with any professional body or examination board.   

4.     Intellectual Property
4.1    All Intellectual Property Rights in the Online material are, and remain, the intellectual property of the Phoenix Group.

4.2    You are not authorised to:-
(i)     copy, modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-licence, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the Online Materials without prior written permission;
(ii)     record on video or audio tape, relay by any means the Online material
(iii)     use the Online Materials in the provision of any other training given by any third party trainer;

4.3    Breach by you of this clause 4.3 shall allow us to immediately terminate these terms and conditions with you and cease to provide you with any Services.

4.4    In consideration of the Subscription paid by you, we grant to you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the Online material.


5.     Assignment
Any Services provided by us under these terms and conditions are personal to you and cannot be transferred or assigned to any other person.


6.     Data Protection

The Phoenix Group for Deaf Children works with deaf children and their families, providing a range of services that help deaf children develop confidence, independence and self-belief. Supporting all members of the family is important to us: we have parent, children and young people’s groups. We deliver workshops and courses including work skills and life skills. We also offer deaf awareness and sign language courses for the local community.
