Who we are
We began as a group of parents and professionals in 2004 who joined together to find ways of supporting families of deaf* children by developing and delivering training courses to tackle specific issues.
We believe all deaf children should be given the chance to reach their full potential and therefore aim to develop resources and
workshops
We are user-led charity so that any child, young person or family member can request a specific topic or workshop for us to develop and deliver. All our workshops and resources are designed to promote the development of skills that will enable deaf young people enter adulthood with confidence and high esteem.
Where difficulties exist as a result of hearing loss we will explore ways of getting round these barriers, working with both professionls and members.
We also work with the wider community to encourage improved awareness of the needs of deaf children and young people. We run bespoke
deaf awareness courses
to help businesses, voluntary organisations and community groups develop their understanding and to learn practical communication skills.
